Job Demands Analysis

OT Functional Workplace Assessment

OT Functional Workplace Assessment

A Job Demands Analysis (JDA) combines a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) and Cognitive Demands Analysis (CDA) to provide a comprehensive assessment of a specific job and its workplace demands.

Sometimes referred to as a Job Site Analysis, Job Site Assessment, Workplace Assessment or Worksite Assessment, a JDA identifies the job’s physical demands, ergonomic risk factors, cognitive demands, sensory demands, psychosocial demands and behavioural requirements.

The result is a detailed, objective description of what the job requires, helping employers support job matching, accommodations, return to work and informed workplace decision-making.

We build JDAs for return to work.

OT Functional Workplace Assessment

An Occupational Therapy (OT) Functional Workplace Assessment evaluates how an individual worker’s functional abilities relate to the demands of their job or a specific work task.

The assessment can help identify workplace barriers, challenging job demands and potential injury or re-injury risks, while informing practical recommendations for workplace accommodations, job modifications and safe return to work.

A Functional Workplace Assessment may be completed before or during a return-to-work program, when accommodation needs are being considered, or when an underlying health condition may affect an employee’s ability to safely perform specific job demands.

Job Match Assessment

OT Functional Workplace Assessment

Office Ergonomic Assessments

Our Job Match Assessment supports return-to-work planning by comparing an employee’s documented functional abilities with the physical and/or cognitive demands of a specific job or task.

Functional abilities may be documented through a WSIB Functional Abilities Form (FAF), Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE) or other current medical restrictions information. These abilities are compared with the job demands identified in a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA), Job Demands Analysis (JDA) or WSIB Physical Demands Information Form (PDIF).

Where a mismatch is identified, workplace accommodations or job modifications may be recommended where possible and practical to support a safe and suitable return to work.

Office Ergonomic Assessments

Workshops for HR and Health & Safety Teams

Office Ergonomic Assessments

Our Registered Occupational Therapists provide Office Ergonomic Assessments to evaluate workstation set-up, posture, equipment and work habits that may contribute to discomfort or increase the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

Each assessment includes practical recommendations for workstation modifications, positioning and equipment use, along with individualized employee education and ergonomic resources to help employees understand and apply the recommended changes.

The goal is to improve workstation fit, support comfort and safe work practices, and reduce identified ergonomic risk factors.

Modular Job Demands Analysis

Workshops for HR and Health & Safety Teams

Workshops for HR and Health & Safety Teams

Not every workplace needs the same level of analysis. Our Modular Job Demands Analysis (JDA) allows employers to select the components most relevant to their needs, from physical and task-specific demands to sensory, cognitive, psychosocial and workplace exposure requirements.

This flexible approach provides the right level of detail for the job, while supporting return to work, accommodation, job matching and workplace planning.

Comprehensive when you need it. Modular by design.
